Chemicals

Everyday products such as cleaners, bleach, dishwashing liquids, fly sprays and even hair and skin care products often contain hazardous chemicals.

It is crucial to consider safe alternatives for the wellbeing of both our families and our planet. The lack of legislation governing this industry is demonstrated in Kevin Farrows book Skin Deep. He states that over 1000 tonnes of commonly used chemicals are produced annually, of these 65% have inadequate safety data and 21% have no safety data at all because they have never been tested.

The truth about the cosmetics and cleaning industries in Australia is that you can make anything, anywhere and put anything on it. There is no regulation. (Skin Deep 2002)

We can choose to use products that are safe for us and our environment, we do have a choice and although it may seem a little overwhelming, we are able to advise you on how to start to replace toxic products with non toxic alternatives. These alternatives include laundry and general cleaners made from soapnuts (the cleaner that grows on trees!), kitchen and laundry products that are 100% Australian owned and made from local ingredients where possible, as well as state of the art shower, bath and water filtration systems.
