Geomancy

Geomancy literally means “geo” – earth and “mancy” – divination of.

The earth is a sphere of energy that continually emits natural radiation, this radiation can be distorted by electromagnetic fields, subterranean running water, mineral concentrations, underground cavities and fault lines.

Geomancy is the art of locating harmful earth radiation, through dowsing, which is then equalized with lasting success. Physical indicators of geopathic stress can be cracks in buildings or the ground, the presence of ants, termites or wasps’ nests, stressed trees, bare patches, moss or fungi on a lawn or stunted vegetation. The more subtle signs of geopathic stress can be your cat’s favourite and often unexpected sleeping position (cat’s are drawn to geopathic stress), having a room that people are reluctant to use or don’t feel comfortable in and electrical appliances or light globes that break down or ‘blow’ regularly without any obvious reason.

If our landscape is out of balance (geopathic stress) it can affect our physical, emotional or spiritual wellbeing. While geopathic stress itself does not cause illness, it can lower our immune system making us more susceptible to disease and poor health.

According to the Dulwich Health Society, "the most common indications of geopathic stress are: resistance to medical treatment, a feeling of being run-down and exhausted, depression, nervousness, loss of appetite, pallor and allergy to food, affected by electricity and not absorbing the necessary vitamins and minerals. Not wanting to go to bed and when in bed: insomnia, restless sleep, feeling cold, cramps, tingling in arms and legs, sleep walking, grinding of teeth, nightmares and fatigue and muzzy head in the morning. Children are often bed wetter’s and babies continuously crying."

Geomancy - a powerful and empowering experience

(A testimonial)

"I'd organized for a geopathic survey of my house and surrounds weeks before my property was besieged by a bushfire. My house was saved but the surrounding property was a charred, devastated mess. It was decided to go ahead with the appointment reasoning, quite rightly, that my property needed all the help it could get.

The actual survey is fascinating. Armed with a dowsing rod the practitioner walks the outside perimeters of your home, noting where the negative and positive energy is indicated by a movement in the rods. My reading appeared to be reasonably healthy - with some negative energy balanced by positive energy but interestingly, lots of "active" energy from the areas that were badly burnt. The spots where the negative energy bisects the house are mapped and this determines a position inside the home to perform the ceremony. Four large sandstone coloured rocks were placed on a towel (in deference to my pale coloured carpet) and angled so that they lined up to the four points of the property where they would eventually be placed. The rocks were then marked with coloured paint to indicate which direction they would finally point and then, as the client, I placed my hands on the rocks and invoked those things that I wanted people to have / feel when they entered or lived in my house. I wasn't aware of this part of the process, so it's worth considering in advance. In haste I selected love, health, happiness, contentment, safety and fulfillment. This was the empowering part of the process. I could focus and put my thoughts, my energy into those stones in the hope that they would do their magic and preserve and resonate my dreams for the feel and energy of my home and its surrounds.

The ceremony completed the rocks were then placed at four corners in the garden where they will work to draw away the negative influences and enhance the positive energies. The rocks were actually almost buried so that they won't get in the way of whipper snippers or lawn mowers.

The beds in my house were then checked for negative energy and everything was fine except for the fact that I have a small electric digital clock on my bed head. The practitioner indicated exactly how big an area the electro-magnetic field of that tiny clock was - and it was scary. All those nasties bombarding my head while I slept. Suffice to say that clock is now on the far side of the room!

Once this was completed my chakras were checked using the divination rod - and sure enough my pesky throat chakra was blocked - and a couple of others weren't exactly clear, no doubt as a result of the worry of the fires. A laughing session was employed to clear the chakras. Now I've never heard of this before, but it was great to laugh and, according to the divination rod, following the process my chakras were clear. It was a fabulous way to end the session.

Interestingly, the practitioner was very keen to hear how my house had been saved from the fires and was a little disappointed to hear that it was Elvis the water bomber and nine truckloads of brave CFA firefighters who had performed the job. Apparently the positive energy surrounding your house can influence the outcome in situations like this. The other interesting point I learned is that a geopathic survey and ritual such as this can help a house sell by enhancing the positive vibes the potential buyers feel when they walk in the door.

All in all, a positive, empowering and totally worthwhile experience."
